I was looking at a sheet of paper this morning that said February 13th and wondered: why does that date sound so familiar? It is of course the 38th anniversary of the Fillmore East show that makes up part of Bear's Choice and DP4. I'm going to settle down now to enjoy the third set of that show. Bon appetit, should you choose to do likewise.

time to listen to the 77 Road Trips stuff, but I've already decided that the listening this weekend will consist of 2/11 through 2/14, from the year 1970.

I was thinkin' the same thing. Casey Jones from DP4 is playing as I type :))). CD3, from the 2/14 show, will play tomorrow night.

Happy Valentines Day!

Edited: OK, finished listening to it, it's awesome. Love the Caution/Spanish tease in TOO and the chill section of Lovelight (after Pig says, "Play yo' guitar!") And of course, the Feelin' Groovy jam makes me laugh, cry, scream, and dance all at once.

BTW, I checked the Setlist Project, and the only other 2/13 show in all GD history was in 1988. Needless to say, that show pales beside the 1970 performance. So 2/13 for all time means just one thing when it comes to the Dead.
